I can find articles about celebrities, politics, just about everything, including food.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some headlines I found interesting and sometimes funny:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cSuspicious package<\/strong> that shut down Alabama courthouse turns out to be Taco Bell order.\u201d Could they not smell the tacos?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cNine-year-old boy<\/strong> gets his whole class to protest after their school removes chocolate milk from the menu.\u201d We may hear from him again when he grows up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cIllinois couple<\/strong> finds 63-year-old McDonald\u2019s fries when renovating their home.\u201d They are willing to sell the fries \u201cfor the right price.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cPop Tarts<\/strong> brings back their frosted grape flavor and it\u2019s here to stay.\u201d I don\u2019t remember the first time they were available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cKit Kat<\/strong> releases new blueberry muffin flavor.\u201d I believe this makes Kit Kat bars a breakfast food.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cBobby Flay\u2019s<\/strong> refrigerator looks a lot more like yours than you think.\u201d Does he really have outdated salad dressing in his fridge?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cEggo releases<\/strong> their first grab and go toaster-free waffles.\u201d Cold waffles and no syrup?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cNestle Toll House<\/strong> will release their first ever stuffed cookie dough in two flavors.\u201d Can you say YUM?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cPolice bring<\/strong> ice cream to a Wisconsin family after arresting their delivery driver saying it\u2019s the \u2018way to finish the job.\u2019\u201d Super nice, but maybe a little melted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cTaco flavored<\/strong> jelly beans \u2014 Brach\u2019s latest offering has the internet talking \u2018no bueno.\u2019\u201d They might make a great dinner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cNew Zealand couple<\/strong> is told that their giant record breaking potato is not actually a potato.\u201d DNA tests proved it is from the gourd family. Yes, DNA tests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 \u201cDwayne \u2018The Rock\u2019 Johnson<\/strong> shows off his epic breakfast of steak, eggs, oatmeal and five PB&amp;J sandwiches.\u201d I would add some hash browns.<\/p>\n<p>Looking through my recipe files I came across two dishes using gelatin, which I think is totally underrated. The salad, from Sharon Frost, is as tasty as it is pretty and makes a nice dessert, too. The cake, from Hazel Trease of Quapaw, Oklahoma, is something different that\u2019s sure to be a favorite. Mix up the colors for best effect.<\/p>\n<p>Have a great week and happy eating.<\/p>\n<h4>Orange salad<\/h4>\n<p>1 large or 2 small packages orange gelatin<\/p>\n<p>1 can mandarin oranges, drained<\/p>\n<p>1 large can pineapple chunks, drained<\/p>\n<p>1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate<\/p>\n<p>Topping<\/p>\n<p>1 (3 ounce) package instant lemon pudding<\/p>\n<p>1 cup milk<\/p>\n<p>1 cup whipped topping<\/p>\n<p>Dissolve gelatin in 2 cups boiling water. Add remaining ingredients. Let set until firm.<\/p>\n<p>Top with topping if desired: Beat pudding mx and milk; fold in whipped topping.<\/p>\n<h4>Broken glass cake<\/h4>\n<p>3 small packages different flavors of gelatin<\/p>\n<p>1 small tub whipped topping<\/p>\n<p>2 cups crushed graham crackers<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup butter<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 cup sugar<\/p>\n<p>1 cup pineapple juice<\/p>\n<p>1 small package lime gelatin<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup water<\/p>\n<p>Mix and chill first three flavors of gelatin according to package instructions in separate bowls. Chill in pie plates or shallow bowls to make about 1\/2 inch thick.<\/p>\n<p>Heat sugar and pineapple juice in saucepan. Add lime gelatin; stir to dissolve.<\/p>\n<p>Add water; chill until syrupy.<\/p>\n<p>Cut first three flavors of gelatin into cubes and fold into lime mixture. Reserve some graham cracker crumbs for topping. Add butter to remaining crumbs and press into 9-by-13-inch dish. Top with gelatin mixture and sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
