\n\tThere\u2019s no doubt about it \u2013 vaping has quickly become a global
\nphenomenon. Replacing our tar laden cigarettes with
\n\tflavoured juice<\/a>, vaporized by a multitude of devices<\/a>, has become the
\npreferred choice for many. At the same time,
\n\tvaping<\/a> and vapers have become
\na periodic yet prevalent fixture in Hollywood movies and TV in recent times.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAs an everyday habit for many (and historically many more) tobacco has
\nalways played its part in the movies. Scenes of intimidating gangsters fiercely
\ngasping on their straights as they lay waste to their enemies, or of thick
\nsmoke enveloping a sultry and sensual leading lady – cigarettes and smoking have
\nthe ability to lend dexterity and shape to the character profiles in question.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTake for instance the film Pulp
\nFiction
\n\t<\/em> by Quentin Tarantino; bruisers and brawlers forging their criminal
\ncareers, cig to the side of the mouth as they berate their beguiled foe into
\nsubmission. It\u2019s an accessory that speaks volumes about the intensity of the character
\nas well as the functionality of nicotine as a tool to alleviate and stimulate
\nfollowing the perplexing predicaments those characters tend to find themselves
\nin. Blowing the brains out of a hostage in the car on the middle of the freeway
\nis hardly going to induce waves of calm and peace. Everyday smokers would be
\nlighting one up after another, frantically finding a remedy to their situation.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSo how has Hollywood traversed the journey from cigarettes to vaping? As
\nthe un-ending influence that celebrity culture irrevocably has on our lives
\ntakes centre stage, we look at some of the superstars (fictional and factual)
\nwho have been paving the way for vaping as a viable and
\n\tless toxic
\nalternative to tobacco

\nsince the introduction of actress June Brown\u2019s character in 1985 as nasty Nick
\nCotton\u2019s faithfully misguided mother. Dot has recently been seen making the
\nswitch from cigarettes to e-cigarettes. Vape on girlfriend.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPerhaps one of the surprise inclusions on our list is the cartoon cast

\n\tSimpsons<\/em>. Back in May 2015,

\nAnika, the cousin of Milhouse, who introduces Bart to e-cigarettes. In the same
\nepisode, Homer creates a blended steak e-juice for Grandpa, much to his
\nsatisfaction. We\u2019re not entirely sure of the intention that this episode may
\nhave had, though the fact that the show covered the topic is in itself a

\nroams the sidewalks of L.A, Leo\u2019s not one to shy away from whipping out his
\nvape pen for a quick hit. Leo\u2019s very public vaping appearance at the SAG awards

\n\tWith celebrity culture at an all-time high and via multiple image led
\nsocial media platforms, it has never been easier to access our revered
\nindividuals of choice. At the touch of our fingertips we are now able to see
\nwhat our favourite celebrities are eating, wearing and

\n\tWhilst we\u2019re all just human beings, it\u2019s refreshing to know that even
\nthe multi-million dollar superstars are changing their habits and switching
\nfrom smoking cigarettes to vaping. E-cigarettes have been found to be up to 95%
\nless harmful than cigarettes and have the potential to help people quit smoking.
