Excise duty – Is your supply chain secured?

[ad_1]

The e-liquid excise duty already applies in 15 member states of the European Union, and the list is still growing. Simultaneously, the European Commission is working on a new TED Directive (Tobacco Excise Directive) which aims to unify the excise duty in all the member states of the EU. In Poland, where our HQ is located, the excise duty has been present since 1 October 2020.

Since January 2023, we have been observing increased excise inspections on the Polish vape market. More and more companies turn to us for help in excise duty matters, because they want to make sure their supply chain is secured in a formal and legal way.

Even if an excise duty has not been introduced in your country, it is crucial to know whether it is introduced in your supplier’s country. When you are aware of that, then you should know, whether your supplier operates in compliance with excise law. If the answer is not – you are at risk of not having your orders realized as well as having legal consequences due to cooperation with that seller.
