How To Recycle Vaping Accessories — DarkStar International Limited

[ad_1]

Did you know that cigarette butts are one of the highest polluters in the world? They can stop plants from growing and pollute rivers, lakes and oceans, causing harm to fish. So it’s important for us as vapers or ex smokers to help make a difference in every way we can. We’ve put together this short blog to give you some tips and tricks to make sure you are disposing of your e cigarette accessories responsibly.

Batteries

Your e-cigarette battery contains hazardous chemicals that if released to the environment could cause harm. Make sure you remove your battery from the device and put it in any battery recycling bin, usually located in supermarkets, vape shops or at recycling centres.

E-Liquid Bottles

All parts of our e-liquid bottles are recyclable (the lid, the bottle and the label). It is important to remember not to put your empty e-liquid bottles in the normal bin (put them in the bin you normally put plastic bottles in) and to make sure that they are completely rinsed out of all e-liquid residue. Some liquids can be harmful to the environment if exposed to it. If you want to dispose of e-liquid, consider offering it to a friend before you throw it away. If that is not possible, we recommend taking it to a hazardous waste facility.

E-Cigarettes

This process is a bit tricky but it is possible to recycle all or most of the components of your e-cigarette. The best way to do this is to dismantle the device, removing the glass, plastic and metal to put in their respective recycling bins. Make sure you rinse out parts of your tank or refill so that there is no e-liquid residue before disposing of them.

Disposable E-Cigarettes

A quick word about disposable e-cigarettes. The average disposable e-cig gives just 300 puffs before running out and they are designed for single use. Because they are being supplied to the public in such huge quantities, these disposable e-cigarettes are often dropped in the streets and make their way to landfill. They then leak hazardous materials such as battery acid and nicotine into the environment. Now that these devices are becoming more popular, we feel that is important now more than ever to recycle vaping products. Disposable e-cigs can be disposed of responsibly in the same way that normal e-cigarettes. It’s not impossible, it just takes a little bit of time and careful attention.
